Reviewing case files is a way for county and state staff to determine the accuracy of eligibility determinations. In addition, case file reviews can:

 

  1. Improve the quality of services to applicants and recipients.

 

  1. Result in early detection of potential errors.

 

  1. Improve payment accuracy and program integrity.

 

  1. Provide consistency in interpreting and applying policies.

 

  1. Provide opportunities for program improvements.

 

  1. Recognize good work.

 

All programs recommend periodic case file reviews. Cases for review should be randomly selected. When completing the review, the following forms are available:
